Since 1853, Maastricht has been connected to other cities and countries by rail. First with four &#8216;temporary&#8217; stations, followed by the current station from 1915. At the end of 2021, Ruland Architecten restored Maastricht Station to its full glory with a major redevelopment. It was and is a particularly beautiful and well-preserved and maintained building. The redevelopment therefore involved recovery, restoration and making the hidden treasures visible again. Monumental spaces and colourful details have been restored to their former glory and made visible and accessible again.<\/p>\n<p>During the Open Monument Days on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2024, Ruland Architects will give guided tours of the Maastricht station building together with the NS. This will include a look at the design and layout of the building, its former use and special features and elements.
