{"id":3186,"date":"2018-12-04T12:32:32","date_gmt":"2018-12-04T12:32:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ruland.nl\/?p=3186\/"},"modified":"2023-07-11T09:21:52","modified_gmt":"2023-07-11T09:21:52","slug":"news_20181204-en","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ruland.nl\/en\/news_20181204-en\/","title":{"rendered":"Restoration of facade railway station Enschede"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"0\">The Enschede station building was designed by the then Rail Architect H.G.J.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"1\">Schelling within the &#8220;system architecture&#8221; that he often applied;<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"2\">buildings designed on a regular grid and constructed from precast concrete elements.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"3\">During a renovation in 2000, a large part of this prefab concrete facade was replaced by natural stone slabs, in deviation from this system architecture.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"4\">However, this facade cladding does not meet the construction requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"VIiyi\" lang=\"en\"><span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"6\">In the facade recovery plan of Ruland Architecten, the natural stone is replaced by the characteristic facade concrete elements.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"7\">These will be reproduced on the basis of the old drawings and molds.<\/span> <span class=\"JLqJ4b ChMk0b\" data-language-for-alternatives=\"en\" data-language-to-translate-into=\"auto\" data-phrase-index=\"8\">As a result, the monumental station building regains its original appearance and the cohesion in Schelling&#8217;s unique design is restored<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Enschede station building was designed by the then Rail Architect H.G.J.
