The characteristic high roof and the striking brick chimneys made it an iconic building. After more than a hundred years it was time for an ambitious restoration. The window frames have been fully restored and fitted with insulating glass. By means of colour historical research, the original colours of the paintwork have been traced and reapplied to the wooden parts, which further enhances the expression of the building.<\/p>\n<p>With this renovation, Gilze-Rijen station has regained its historical charm, while at the same time it has been modernised and made more sustainable. The result is a beautifully restored station, with the reconstruction of the high chimney as the finishing touch.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><!-- close content main div
