Retail space AKO Maastricht station

Within the framework of the Masterplan for the redevelopment of Maastricht station, the retail space of the AKO is being restored. In the design by Ruland Architecten, the entrances are made visible and open, in a contemporary way that fits into the monumental architecture of the station.

Masonry in block bond

OfficeVilla Breedband is about details. The first masonry walls have been completed and the ‘block bond in three layers on top of each other, built in stretcher bond’ is clearly visible. The dark hand-moulded stone is laid with a 10 mm deepened joint.

Working above the cycle path

After the completion of the first floor the contracter started the formwork of the second floor. The contours of the curved, overhanging floor are already recognizable. The bicycle and pedestrian path run parallel to the facade on the ground floor and first floor.

Jungle of temporary construction

The constructive work on the foundation and basement has been completed. A final touch is being made to the reinforcement of the ground floor. Contractor Polinder Bouw will start with the ascending work of columns and storeys.

Outlines Ibis Amsterdam Centre

After the demolition work, the construction of the ground floor for the Ibis Amsterdam Center hotel is in full swing. The existing mezzanine has been extended to make more space for the backoffice. By breaking away inner walls, the restaurant space will be enlarged. The installations are being renovated, adapted and brought into view.

The basement is taking shape

The concrete formwork is placed in the right place. In the middle of next week, the walls can be poured. The lift point is already ready, as is the ascending reinforcement of the load-bearing inner wall.
