A new step for The Hague HS

The central platform of The Hague Hollands Spoor station no longer met the requirements and guidelines for safe and unobstructed passenger use of the train. The platform needed to be constructed with a shallower slope. Due to the significantly greater height difference, a split-level platform was chosen besides platform buildings A and C, allowing the paving to connect directly to the platform edge and the facades of the historic platform buildings. Natural stone seating elements between the upper and lower sections of the platform provide clear entries to step up from the train platform towards the buildings. The wooden seats match the wood type and color of the wooden benches further down the platform.
